Types of Sexual Harassment
There are essentially two types of sexual harassment: quid pro quo and hostile work environment. We represent victims of both.
Quid pro quo: This is the type of sexual harassment in which an employer, manager or someone in a position of power requests a sexual favor in exchange for some form of work-related benefit. For example, a manager may offer to promote an employee if that employee has sex with him or her.
Hostile work environment: This type of sexual harassment involves coworkers, managers or other supervisors who are constantly making adult jokes or sexual comments, inappropriately touching, standing too close or engaging in other similar behavior because of another employee's gender or sexual orientation.
