Maureen M. Duffy Oakland, California
Maureen M. Duffy has successfully counseled and represented public entities and private sector clients in cases involving employment discrimination, wrongful termination, police defense and civil rights litigation. Ms. Duffy has jury trial experience, and she has successfully argued approximately 15 dispositive motions in state and federal court. She has also handled state and federal appellate work as well as arbitrations and mediations of employment and labor-related cases. Following her graduation from law school, Ms. Duffy clerked for the Honorable Peter A. Nowinski, U.S. District Court, Eastern District of California, for the 1994-1995 term. Ms. Duffy developed her expertise in employment litigation and counseling at Whitmore, Johnson & Bolanos, as a senior attorney with Baker & McKenzie, and as in-house counsel for IBM. Ms. Duffy is admitted to practice by the State Bar of California and the U.S. District Court, Northern and Eastern Districts of California. She is a member of California Women Lawyers and Queen's Bench Bar Association, a San Francisco Bay Area based bar association.
