Jesper I. Rasmussen is a trial attorney who has practiced law in California for over 25 years. He has successfully represented plaintiffs and defendants throughout his career. Mr. Rasmussen has extensive knowledge and legal experience in many areas of the law, both state and federal. While his practice is diverse, he currently concentrates on cases involving civil rights, labor and employment, defamation, business disputes and personal injury.
Mr. Rasmussen enjoys a reputation as a very skilled, dedicated and tenacious advocate who consistently achieves outstanding results for his clients.
He has successfully tried cases in both state and federal courts. He has never lost a case he has taken to trial. During his career, he has won more than 40 summary judgment motions for his clients. He also has extensive experience preparing and successfully defending writs and appeals in state and federal courts. Mr. Rasmussen has also appeared and argued before the California Supreme Court.
Mr. Rasmussen has successfully represented many public entities such as the County of Alameda, as well as many Fortune 500 companies including Ford Motor Company, Chrysler, Safeway, Kraft Foods and Eaton Corporation. He has litigated cases in diverse subject areas such as products liability, consumer protection, premises liability, commercial and business litigation, defamation and California's anti-SLAPP statute, toxic torts, insurance coverage, insurance bad faith and personal injury.
He is admitted to practice by the State Bar of California, the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit, and the U.S. District Court, Northern, Southern and Eastern Districts of California.
Outside of Patton Wolan Carlise, Mr. Rasmussen serves as a Judge Pro Tempore in the Alameda County Superior Court. He also serves on the Bar Association of San Francisco's settlement panel mediating cases referred by the San Francisco Superior Court.
